I have changed my mind - I don't want to get married! J/K. I didn't realise that this much work went into organising a wedding though... Especially one that costs as much as we expect to budget for.
I can't believe how hard it is to organise somewhere overseas to get married. We have narrowed it down to
#1. Get married in Sri Lanka, Honey-moon either there or the Maldives.
#2. Get married in Perth - very small invite list.
#3. Get married without wedding - ie registry office.
#4. Throw all options out the window and start again.
I am starting to REALLY like the idea of getting married in Sri Lanka though. They have some nice packages, and the photo's of the place look nice.
Well if I start looking at option one, I'll need to look at the next option - who is invited, and how are they getting there?
I think what we will be doing, is inviting anyone who wants to come, provided they pay for their own airfare and accomodation costs etc.. They wouldn't have to buy us any wedding gifts though :P With the exception of immediate family - we'll pay for at least 1/2 their ticket.
So that means we'll have to give everyone HEAPS of notice so they can save up. Return airfare from Perth to SriLanka is about $1500. That's just the airfare!
Looks like the wedding will be post-poned to 2006!. Ahh well.. at least it is starting to look like it'll actually happen.
